WHAT IS EAR CANDLING?
Ear candling is not a new alternative therapy. It is an ancient treatment, dating back 2,500 years from China, India, Greece, Middle East and the Americas. This ancient therapeutic art may have been developed with the domestication of the honeybee. Beeswax was — and still is — a key component to making the hollow cylinders used in the procedure.
Sessions take about 1 hour. Just lie back and with aromatherapy and ear candles we will clean your ear canals safely and non-invasively of hardened wax containing – dust, wax, pollutants, toxins – and reduce the pressure build up inside your head/ears. The pressure inside our skull should be the same as the air pressure outside. When it is not – as with sinus infections or head colds – we have pain. Ear candling adjusts and fixes the pressure differential inside and outside your head in a very relaxing way.
Today, as in times past, high-quality ear candles are handmade from beeswax and unbleached cotton cloths. These specially fabricated candles are typically nine (9) to twelve (12) inches long and will burn for approximately ten minutes. Through a process called “convection”. . . softer waxes and toxins will be drawn out of the ear, oxidized and turned into vapors during the procedure.
